Finch was born in La Mirada Calif. and began playing softball as a child. Doug, her father, was the first coach for Jennie's pitching. Jennie was the first to use the Finch Windmill at the age of 10. She pitched 13 no-hitters and six perfect games in high school. Then she went to University of Arizona, where as a pitcher and first baseman, she was all-time All-American three times. She was awarded the Honda Award, given to the top players in softball during 2001 when the Wildcats were awarded the title of champions in national competition and in 2002 was won by her. Wounded Warriors Softball Team's (WWAST) goal is to increase awareness of the sacrifices of soldiers, their resilience, and their ability to face obstacles through sporting events featuring celebrities and games for exhibition.
